Fan Yan

A mini documentary portrait of Fan Yan, Remi's mum: a Hong Kong ink painter who played viola in the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra for over 20 years before returning to her first love, ink and watercolour on rice paper. Her work has been shown in a solo exhibition at Alisan Fine Arts (2023) and at Collect Hong Kong (2025). Remi proposed the film to her and made it alone for her Instagram: directed, shot, edited and graded. The project also includes product photography of her artworks, a short film about her lamps and a short film advertising her products. Remi also designed and runs her website.
